Sharing the joy of swimming
Hello, I’m Zara and, as anyone who has ever met me will tell you, swimming is my favourite thing; I adore being in water myself, and get so much joy from teaching others how to swim.

Teaching both adults and children, on a 1-2-1 basis (sometimes 2-2-1), with sessions tailored to the individual need, be that initial water confidence; overcoming water fears; lessons for non-swimmers and improvers onwards...
I’ve swam my whole life; competitively as a child and teen; recreationally in my 20s; as a Masters Swimmer in my 30s and 40s and I’m still a total water enthusiast, swimming whenever possible!
Information about where, when, qualifications, costs and terms is detailed on this site but please ask if you’d like more detail.

English Channel Solo Swimmer
English Channel Solo Swimmer
Open water swimming holds a special place in my heart - both for the challenges it offers the body and mind, and as a reset for the soul. I achieved my childhood dream of swimming the English Channel solo in 2013 which was a real pinnacle of my swimming journey but it’s not all about the tough miles; I also adore a bob in the river with friends.
I love supporting other people learning how to enjoy the water - please get in touch if you’d like to talk about your aims and how I can help you.

Zara is brilliant. The progress my four-year-old daughter has made over the last half-term has been phenomenal. Initially, she was very anxious around water, but with Zara’s patience, kindness and encouragement, she has built her confidence and developed a positive association with swimming. I’ve been blown away by the progress she has made, all while Zara works tirelessly to ensure each lesson is safe, fun and engaging. Zara has built such a wonderful rapport with my daughter, and it’s lovely to see her look forward to her swimming lesson every week.

My son started swimming with Zara in February. Initially to regain his water confidence for our upcoming holiday. He is now thriving with Zara and she is fantastic with him. Patient and very nurturing. My son cannot wait for his weekly swimming lesson.
